I have had my beef with Wikipedia being used as a source for academic work but I can’t deny it’s usefulness for quick and dirty information gathering. But with the 2,209,000+ articles, browsing through the pages can be tedious chore. Unless, of course, you get a sneak peak of what lies behind a link.
Well, I might have to say that there’s already Cooliris previews that pretty much does it for every link that you have on a page but I personally don’t like having that functionality but would like to have it just for specific sites like Wikipedia. That’s where again, Greasemonkey scripts for Firefox gives you another flexible functionality and this one’s built for Wikipedia. Wikipedia Inline Article Viewer provides that.
One commenter over at Lifehacker has pointed out that Wikipedia innately has this functionality is available via activation through special preferences. So this one might again be for those who don’t have Wikipedia accounts or don’t want to bother with logging in every time.
